Highway Evidence at Public Inquiry, Bramhope and Collingham
We were delighted to have been appointed by our client Miller Homes to assist them with their planning appeals for two major residential sites, one at Bramhope and a further site at Collingham, both near Leeds, our appointment came following the initial refusal of their planning applications by Leeds City Council.
The two appeals were co-joined with a third appeal site and heard together at a three week long public Inquiry. Both refusals included highway reasons to which we were appointed to assist our client and to provide highway evidence to the Inquiry.
The two sites to which we represented Miller Homes cumulatively represent up to 530 dwellings, the third site for another house builder represented a further 370 dwellings, collectively the three sites have the potential for 900 new dwellings in the Leeds area.
The appeals have wider significance for Leeds City Council in that the Inspector concluded that the Council had not demonstrated a five year Housing Land Supply.
The Inspector recommended that the applications be approved and the Secretary of State agreed with the Inspectors conclusions and recommendations in a decision dated 22 December 2016.
