Sanderson Associates attend Public Inquiry in Rotherham
In February 2012 Sanderson Associates provided highway evidence at a public inquiry into the development of a site for residential use at Treeton near Rotherham, where the Local Planning Authority refused the planning application on the basis that the site should in their opinion be retained for retail purposes to improve local facilities.
Expert witness evidence was provided by Bob Greenwood, one of our Associate Directors, on matters of sustainability in relation to access to the facilities already available in the village and to those outside of the village envelope which would be attainable by sustainable modes of travel.
In his decision received in June 2012 the Inspector concluded that ‘I find that the proposal accords with the development plan and that there is a clear and pressing need for further residential development, which provides strong support for the appeal proposal’.
